Teams Issues

NEW TEAMS PROBLEMS

The NEW Teams client has been reported to cause many different issues for users, some of these issues include, but are not limited to:

Random restarts of the app,
Random Crashes during a meeting,
No voice from an input device that has been confirmed functional,
No video from an external/built-in webcam that has been confirmed functional,
Limited access to Team's files,
Audio and Video glitching out during a call/meeting randomly,
The inability to use the NEW Teams toggle to go back to Classic Teams,

A solution to mitigate these issues involves installing the OLD Teams app which [does not] have the previously mentioned issues, the problem is the file that Microsoft keeps giving us to download is the MSIX file <- This is the one that DOESN'T have the New Teams toggle, and there's no way to specify the OLD Teams download through M365:

I have provided a work around that involves installing the OLD Teams client DIRECTLY through the attached download link, https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2187327 This prevents M365 from giving you the NEW Teams download that is currently plagued with issues:

Things to consider when downloading the OLD Teams client:
|
The download link is sent to your browser's download tab if you don't get a notification, check there and select "open file" in your recent download history to complete the download process:
|
Your anti-virus will scan the download link and could potentially block it, provide an exemption to the link if you experience a blocker:
|
This OLD Teams version includes the toggle to NEW Teams, avoid toggling this option to prevent any previously mentioned issues from reappearing:
